Bella (she/her/hers) is a current junior at Eckerd double majoring in International Relations/Global Affairs and Spanish, with a double minor in Economics and Public Health. At Eckerd Bella is a tutor for Principles of Microeconomics and Microeconomics of the Environment & Animals and a Resident Advisor (RA). Bella grew up in Bolton, Massachusetts and is passionate about community service, nature, and helping others learn to be the best version of themselves. Through her Discovery Plan, she plans to study the interaction between international regimes and grassroots organizations in promoting the social determinants of public health and wellbeing. Bella has studied public health in Puerto Rico, and in the summer of 2026 she went to study international law and governance in Geneva, Switzerland, and Strausborg, France. Bella plans on working with local grassroots organizations in the broader Tampa Bay area to support efforts such as community gardens, homeless shelters, and food pantries as a means of fostering community engagement and promotion of health equity. When not studying or in class, Bella enjoys going on runs, relaxing at the beach, engaging in arts and crafts, spending time with friends and family, and drinking a chai latte from Starbucks.
Ella Skonieczny (She/Her) is a junior from Madison, Connecticut double majoring in Marine Science on the biology track and Environmental Studies. She is very engaged on campus and is a member of the Peace Corps Preparatory Program, the Gulf Explorer program, a mate in-training on the Eckerd College Search and Rescue team, is an Eastman Scholar, and a NOAA Hollings Scholar. She is also a part of the Women’s Plus Club Soccer Team, the Coed Club Soccer Team, and is a student ambassador. For her Eastman Program discovery plan, she wishes to expand recreation accessibility on public lands for all people and communities. When not in class, you can find Ella spending her time outdoors either swimming at the beach, hiking, camping, or sailing, and spending time with the ones that she loves.
Julieanna Acevedo Carrasquillo is an incoming senior double majoring in Psychology and Human Development. Originally from Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, she is deeply engaged in campus life and leadership. Julieanna serves as President of the Partnership Dance Club, Club Head for the Eckerd Tritones A Cappella, Student Ambassador, Vice President–SLP of the Pre-Health Club, and a Resident Advisor. Her discovery plan centers on medical advocacy and disability inclusion, reflecting her passion for equitable healthcare and patient-centered support. She aspires to become a speech-language pathologist, where she can advocate for individuals with communication disorders. Outside of her academic and leadership commitments, Julieanna enjoys volunteering, singing, dancing, watching a good show, and spending time outdoors, especially catching the sunset!
