STUDY ABROAD

One component of our Discovery Plan consists of study abroad, in which we spend considerable time  in a different country, state or out of our normal spaces of living. As well as getting out of our typical comfort zones, within these trips, we work to combine academic and personal interests, reflections on positionality and our impact on places we visit, and seek to practice responsible forms of traveling and living within other communities. Whether through Winter Term or Spring into Summer trips with Eckerd's Office of Global Education or our own independent trips, we've had the opportunity to be guests all the way from the Birthplace of Lord Buddha in Lumbini, Nepal to the backcountry and winding swamps of Florida's Scenic Trail. Here are the places we've gone and some of our stories.
